Gee, that back door cut was really troublesome for Pitt. What'd they get 1 - maybe 2 - that worked. I have to laugh at the media. Pitt gets beat up for not having gotten passed the Sweet 16 - and I understand that to some extent - but isn't it time that Jamie Dixon & Co. get credit for having run one of THE best programs in the nation for the past decade?
Dixon might not have the glitzy name of Rick Pitino, he might not be the descendent of a legendary Big East coach like John Thompson III, and no he doesn't yet have titles like Jim Calhoun...but all but all he does is find ways to beat these guys year in and year out. He's as good, if not better, than these other coaches.
Honestly, I don't know why any recruit would think of these other coaches/programs ahead of Pitt's. Jamie Dixon is a class act. The Pitt players learn how to play the game RIGHT. The only reason they haven't yet broken through to the Elite 8 is raw talent. This year I think that may well change.
