Report Says Rutgers Athletics Lacked Oversight; RU Football Team Readies for Army
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) – A committee appointed to conduct an independent review of the Rutgers University athletic program has issued a report sharply critical of the school’s athletic director and its president and board of governors for failing to properly oversee “an increasingly successful and fiscally complex athletics program.”
The nine-member Athletics Review Committee found that the university “operated with inadequate internal controls, insufficient inter-departmental and hierarchical communications, an uninformed Board on some specific important issues, and limited Presidential leadership.”
