After talking yesterday with Givon Crump, he mentioned that he is considering both Rutgers and Seton Hall, as well as Oregon State, Michigan, DePaul, Wake Forest, South Florida and SMU.

“I’m going to sit down with the coach (Brewster coach Jason Smith) and my parents and talk about which schools are the best fit,” Crump said by phone. “I’m going to take some visits and go  ahead and make a decision.”

Crump, a  6-foot-6, 210-pound small forward ranked No. 26 among small forwards in the Class of 2009, said he didn’t know much about Seton Hall but is being recruited by head coach Bobby Gonzalez and assistant Derm Player.

“I haven’t made any plans to visit the school,” he said. “We’ve talked about possibly having a visit with them. The situation is pretty new to me.”

Crump has already visited Rutgers and Wake Forest unofficially. As for the Rutgers visit, he said: “I talked with the coaching staff.  They really like my game. I thought the campus was nice. It was a beautiful campus. I could see myself playing for coach (Fred) Hill and at Rutgers.”

Crump said he definitely plans to take officials to Michigan and Oregon State.

“I hope to be an impact player at whatever school I go to,” he said. “I want to come into the game and make shots and make plays.

“I”m a fan of the game and I’m looking at going to a situation to play and have a nice career.”

Crump plans to take his visits in September and decide soon thereafter.

“I’m looking to narrrow things down and really decide on which schools I’ll be visiting in September,” he said.

    GADDY NAMES TOP 5

Bellarmine Prep point guard Abdul Gaddy has named a top five.

“I’ve been talking with my parents over it and we’ve been focusing in on it a lot,” Gaddy told UDubSports.com. “A decision will be coming soon. I’ll probably set up a couple of visits but I plan on making my decision this month. A bunch of guys want me to come to school with them and want me to look at schools like Texas, Memphis – all that stuff, and I’m looking at it all right now.

“My top five are Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Memphis and UCLA,” Gaddy said. “It will come down to that bond with the coaching staff.”
