Here are a few quick notes on defending national champion Kansas….

**Neither Lance Stephenson of Brooklyn Lincoln nor Dominic Cheek of St. Anthony in Jersey City has yet to schedule a visit to Kansas, although both have mentioned the Jayhawks on their short list.

“He would like to make visits in the fall,” St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley said of the 6-foot-5 Cheek, who has also mentioned UConn, Villanova, Tennessee and Wake Forest near the top of his list. “The good thing with New Jersey starting time so late, we don’t have to rush into anything. He has a test score. He’s able to make his visits. We can get the process started. There’s no real rush.”

**The Dallas Independent School District has concluded that the allegations of improper grade-changing at South Oak Cliff High School, which involved former Kansas forward Darrell Arthur, are unfounded, according to The Kansas City Star.

The NCAA responded by saying that it would have to wait for the results of DISD’s investigation before deciding a course of action.

Arthur declared for the NBA Draft and was picked 27th overall by the New Orleans Hornets. He was traded several times before landing with the Memphis Grizzlies.

**Arthur, Brandon Rush (Indiana), Mario Chalmers (Miami), Darnell Jackson (Cleveland) and Russell Robinson (Houston) are expected to be on campus Sept. 20 for the Kansas-Sam Houston State football game and a ring ceremony honoring the national champs, according to KUSports.com.

**Xavier Henry, a 6-foot-6 senior guard from Putnam City (Okla.) High, will also be making an unofficial visit to Kansas that weekend, then make his official campus visit for the Oct. 17 Late Night in the Phog.

“I don’t have any other visits planned right now,” Henry told Rivals.com. He is down to a final four of KU, Memphis, Texas and UCLA. “I just know that I’ll be taking a visit to Kansas in September and October.”

**Twins Marcus and Markieff Morris , who played at Apex Academies in Cherry Hill, N.J., are expected to be eligible this season after finishing a core high school course they took this summer in Lawrence.

“I’d say all the coursework is completed. The grades will be turned into the eligibility center. It’s kind of a waiting game now,” Kansas head coach Bill Self told KUSports.com.

**Self was rewarded recently with a 10-year, $30 million contract extension. Not bad. Not bad at all.
