  • Seton Hall Target: Karron Johnson

Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalez is working hard on getting Karron Johnson to come to South Orange.

Here’s what Memphis Tigers beat writer Dan Wolken wrote today on his blog from Vegas: “The Tigers could certainly do worse than Johnson as their 4 man for this class. Seton Hall is on him hard, and Bobby Gonzalez was there watching today. Johnson has nice skills and can play a physical game.”

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound Johnson, out of Mount Zion (NC) Christian, is said to favor Memphis, but also holds offers from Seton Hall, Miami, USC, Virginia, LSU and Georgetown, according to Rivals. He is ranked No. 13 among PFs in the Class of 2009 and No. 38 overall.

Seton Hall is looking at a number of power forwards in this class, and Johnson is certainly at the top of the list.

“We feel real good about who we’re involved with,” Gonzalez told me Monday. “I like what we’ve done.”
