RutDominic_cheek_playazgers held its team camp this weekend and many of the top players in the area were on campus for the event. MIke DeCourcy of the Sporting News had a good story on the camp before it started.

    Among those on hand were:

**St. Anthony players Dominic Cheek, Devon Collier and Ashton Pankey. The 6-5 Cheek is the apple of everyone’s eye, including Rutgers and Seton Hall, but Villanova and Wake Forest are said to be his unofficial leaders. Collier and Pankey, the two New York City transfers to Bob Hurley’s program, are also drawing increased interest from major programs.

“I think they’re recruiting seems to be building,” Hurley said before the event. “Collier had a good month playing with New Heights. He and Pankey have both been lifting (weights) for a couple weeks.

“I would say St. John’s, Seton Hall and Rutgers will be interested in both kids and probably all the A-10s. It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of July.”

**Brooklyn Lincoln and star Lance Stephenson. Stephenson has reportedly cut his list to USC, UCLA and Kansas, although I’m still hoping to confirm that with his father.

**St. Patrick players Kyrie Irving, Michael Gilchrist and Marcus Kennedy. Gilchrist, who is related to Worldwide Wes of Memphis fame, already holds an offer from Rutgers and is going to be a major star in the Class of 2011. The 6-8 Kennedy, a sophomore, holds an offer from Xavier.

**Rutgers commit Austin Johnson of Blair Academy, who matched up well against the St. Anthony frontcourt in Sunday’s final game.

**Plainfield sophomore guard Isaiah Epps, who holds offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, Pitt and Maryland, and plans to visit Maryland later this month. Kansas has also inquired.

**Paterson Catholic, which features five very talented sophomores, including forwards Trevor Clemmings and Fuquan Edwin, who hold offers from several schools each, including Rutgers and Seton Hall. Xavier has also offered Edwin.

**Junior Sherrod Wright of Mount Vernon. Xavier, Georgia Tech and Virginia are “working the hardest” to land Wright, with all three schools having offered, according to Mount Vernon coach Bob Cimmino, who now has two players at Rutgers in Mike Coburn and Florida transfer Jonathan Mitchell.

**6-10 junior Malcolm Gilbert of Academy of the New Church, a lean, but athletic scorer who is aggressive in the paint.
